Cary man accused of stabbing uncle

Police arrested a Cary man on Thursday who is accused of stabbing his uncle at their home, at 1128 Afton Meadow Lane.

CARY, N.C. — Police arrested a Cary man on Thursday who is accused of stabbing his uncle at their home, at 1128 Afton Meadow Lane.

Maurice McDuffie, 31, was charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. His uncle, whose name was not released, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Officers responded to the house about 6:45 a.m. and learned that the uncle was being held in the apartment and had multiple stab wounds, police said.

McDuffie suffered a minor injury, but the the details were not released. He was being held in the Wake County Public Safety Center.
