Cary leaders vote against redistricting

Posted September 26, 2008

— The Cary Town Council voted Thursday not to redraw its district lines before the 2009 elections.

Cary is divided into four districts. Each elects a council member.

Some council members said the district population numbers are out of balance and lines should be adjusted. Others said the town should wait until after the official 2010 U.S. Census.

What they *really* need to do is to un-gerrymander Cary's congressional district. We're bundled in with Durham and the People's Republic of Chapel Hill.
