Police have arrested a Carrboro man in connection with a burglary and attempted rape that happened Friday morning.

<b>CARRBORO, N.C.</b> — Police have arrested a Carrboro man in connection with a burglary and attempted rape Friday morning.

Francisco Javier Diaz, 33, of 501 N.C. Highway 54, Apt. Q-1, was jailed under a $100,000 bond on charges of attempted first-degree rape, sexual battery and first-degree burglary.

Carrboro police said the charges stem from an incident alleged to have happened on Fidelity Street shortly after 4 a.m.

Diaz was arrested after a brief search of the area, investigators said.
