Training and security services firm Xe Services is moving its corporate headquarters out of North Carolina.

The company, once known as Blackwater, said its executive team will be based in Arlington, Va., rather than at its huge complex in Moyock.

Xe is owned by USTC, which acquired the company in late 2010.

“This move demonstrates our commitment to foster even stronger relationships with our customers in and around Washington,” said Xe Chief Executive Officer Ted Wright. “Establishing our headquarters office in Arlington will facilitate those exchanges while we continue to deliver the best-in-class operational excellence that all of our customers have come to expect.”

Xe operates a 7,000 acre training facility in Moyock and has operations in Connecticut, California and Afghanistan.

“While we remain fully committed to our world-class training facility in North Carolina, having a footprint in Washington will allow us to better interact with our current and future U.S. government and corporate customers,” Wright said.
