United Kicks Off Surge in New Flights from RDU

— United Airlines launched non-stop service between Raleigh-Durham International Airport and Denver on Tuesday.

The once-daily flight leaves RDU at 4:52 p.m.

United’s addition is one of several coming to RDU this spring.

On May 1, American Eagle launches nonstop daily flights to Louisville, Ky., Jacksonville, Fla., and Kansas City, Mo.

Also in May, ExpressJet, a new airline, begins RDU service with six daily nonstop services from RDU. Destinations are: Louisville, Kansas City, Jacksonville, New Orleans, San Antonio and Birmingham, Ala.

On June 1, Midwest Airlines begins offering three daily nonstop flights to Milwaukee.

    Midwest is a greta airline too. AirTran was trying to buy them out. I think that Midwest used to fly here into RDU years back.

    Yeah, I miss Midway- they blew themselves up too quickly and it hurt when 911 hit. How sad, it was a great airline.

    Still no direct flights to San Fran or San Jose, though. Ridiculous for the "research triangle".
