Cloud computing provider to expand in Raleigh
A company that provides networking and cloud-computing services will create 337 jobs in Raleigh over the next five years, officials said Thursday.

Citrix Systems plans to invest $12.5 million to expand its Triangle offices. Last October, it bought Raleigh-based ShareFile and created a data-sharing division here.
“Raleigh has been home to ShareFile since its inception in 2005. As a hub for prestigious universities and a well-established tech community, we are excited to find new local talent to join our company,” Jesse Lipson, vice president and general manager of data sharing at Citrix, said in a statement.
ShareFile is in the fast-growing cloud services market, offering businesses a secure way to send, share and manage files via a Web-based infrastructure.
Citrix already employs 130 people in Raleigh, and the average salary of the new jobs is projected at more than $70,000, plus benefits.
The state Economic Investment Committee voted Thursday morning to award a Job Development Investment Grant to Citrix. JDIGs are awarded only to projects whose benefits exceed the costs to the state and which would not be undertaken in North Carolina without the grant.
Under the terms of JDIG, the company is eligible to receive a grant equal to 75 percent of the state withholding taxes from the new jobs for up to 12 years, as long as the company meets annual performance targets. The grant could generate up to $8.65 million for the company.
