Burst Water Pipe Floods Fayetteville Street, Lawns
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Residents said that a water-main break damaged houses and yards in a Fayetteville neighborhood this weekend.

Residents of the Hollywood Heights development said that a pipe that had been leaking for about two days finally broke Saturday night.

The water-main break sent water gushing down Louise Street, covering yards and reaching some front doors, according to residents.

At least two houses suffered damage before the water receeded, said residents.

City officials said that repairs to the water pipe were completed Sunday and that no customers lost service.

Neighbors said they called Fayetteville's Public Works Commission and a water-purification company about the original leak, but have not received any response.
