Burglars leave mark on Fayetteville victim's home
Adding insult to injury, burglars left messages behind for the owner of a Fayetteville home that they broke into Wednesday morning, saying that they "love the stuff we got," police said Thursday.
Posted — UpdatedOfficers responded to a home in the 5200 block of Madonna Drive after neighbors saw two men leaving the home with large bags filled with a variety of items, police said.
Almost $5,000 in electronics, clothes and food was taken from the home, police said.
Inside the home were handwritten notes and messages carved into walls thanking the homeowner for the items, police said.
Dajuan Marquis Avant, 19, who is listed as homeless, and Darrell L. Sturdivant Jr., 19, of 1148 Sleepy Hollow Drive, were arrested and charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods, felony conspiracy and injury to real property.
Police said they were trying to determine if the men were linked to other break-ins in the area.
