Bunn man killed in Franklin County head-on collision

A Bunn man was killed and at least one other person was injured Sunday afternoon in a head-on collision in Franklin County, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

LOUISBURG, N.C. — A Bunn man was killed and at least one other person was injured Sunday afternoon in a head-on collision in Franklin County, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Donald Clay Haislip, 53, died when a car, driven by Casey Michelle Pitzing, 19, crossed the center line of N.C. Highway 39 near Louisburg and struck head-on the vehicle Haislip was driving.

Authorities said witnesses reported that Pitzing blanked out, crossed the line, hit a car driven by Yobina Ortiz-Santiago and continued on, striking Haislip.

Yobina Ortiz-Santiago, authorities said, refused treatment.

Pitzing, of Warrenton, was charged with driving left of center and death by motor vehicle.
