Bragg soldier dies after IED explosion

A Fort Bragg soldier died Tuesday from wounds suffered last week in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced Wednesday.

FORT BRAGG, N.C. — A Fort Bragg soldier died Tuesday from wounds suffered last week in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced Wednesday.

Spc. Christopher J. Moon, 20, of Tucson, Ariz., died at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany, of wounds suffered on July 6 when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device in Arghandab, Afghanistan.

Moon was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division.
