More than 200 paratroopers from the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade returned early Friday to Fort Bragg from Afghanistan, where they were serving in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Tears of happiness, kisses and hugs filled the atmosphere as the troopers were reunited with family members. The troopers performed a variety of missions while deployed, providing aviation assets to coalition ground forces throughout the country.

Their return flight was initially scheduled to arrive on Thanksgiving, but it was delayed because of maintenance issues, Bragg authorities said.
