Bond set at $1M for standoff suspect
Bond has been set at $1 million for the suspect involved in 13-hour standoff with police in January.

In the early morning hours, deputies were called to 2593 Pea Ridge Road, near Beaver Creek Road, where they had been told a possible hostage situation was developing.
Deputies said that when they arrived, however, the man and woman for whom they were looking were gone.
Hour later, a phone call pointed authorities in the direction of a car in a field, beyond some woods, south of New Elam Church. Inside the car, police found Phillips and a woman with whom he was apparently in a relationship.
Police said Phillips was refusing to let the woman go. Camouflaged, armed police officers surrounded the vehicle. Negotiators said Phillips claimed dynamite was inside the vehicle.
Phillips let the woman go around 1:30 p.m. Deputies said she had been cut several times, and she was treated at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Phillips surrendered just over an hour later. He had multiple injuries and was transported to UNC Hospitals.
Authorities did not release the name of the woman.
