Body found on Kure Beach identified as missing swimmer
A body washed up near Fort Fisher Visitor Center on Tuesday afternoon, according to Kure Beach police.

KURE BEACH, N.C. — A body washed up near Fort Fisher Visitor Center on Tuesday afternoon, according to Kure Beach police.
Authorities said they received reports of a body being found at about 3 p.m. off Loggerhead Road.
Authorities on Tuesday night identified the man as Maynor Francisco Cruz Bardalez.
Last week, a man was hospitalized after jumping into the ocean near the Kure Beach Fishing Pier in an attempt to rescue Bardalez, 25, of Wilmington.
Bardalez's remains have been taken to the medical examiner's office, authorities said.
