Body found at I-540 near Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh
A body was found along side of Interstate 540 near Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh, according to the Wake County Sheriff's Office.
Posted — UpdatedA driver was tending to his broken down car and saw the remains in the nearby woods. Investigators said the body is badly decomposed, and they believe the person had undergone hip surgery due to a plate found near the hip area.
It appeared the victim was wearing a black short sleeve shirt and blue jeans. A bracelet was found near the body, and the victim's hair was in a pony tail.
The body is being sent to the Medical Examiners office to determine cause of death and identify the body.
