Here are our picks for fun in the Triangle this week:
Tuesday
Wake Tech Community College has its 2013 Culinary Arts Showcase - watch live cake decorating contests and sample food from some great local restaurants.
Embrace Autism - ViewBar will be hosting this event to help raise money for The Autism Society of North Carolina. There will be door prizes, swag bars, a silent auction and several vendors. A percentage of bar and vendor sales and 100 percent of the auction will go to the nonprofit.
Wednesday
Koka Booth Amphitheatre's Hob Nob Jazz Series kicks off with Side Car Social Club. Tickets are $5 per show and children 12 and under get in free. Show runs 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Puttin' on the Ritz at Sullivan's Steakhouse - This event will raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Tickets are $50 and the entire event has a roaring 1920s theme.
"Priscilla Queen of the Desert: The Musical" opens at the DPAC and runs through Sunday.
Thursday
Strawberry Day at the State Farmers Market - Get free samples and strawberry ice cream!
Beach Music at North Hills continues with The Attractions
Bob Dylan plays the Red Hat Amphitheater in downtown Raleigh
Friday
First Friday in downtown Raleigh! Look for our official guide on Wednesday!
Rush at PNC Arena
Smithfield's Ham and Yam Festival kicks off and runs through Saturday
