DURHAM, N.C. — Senator Bernie Sanders will be in Durham on Friday morning as part of his campaign trail during early voting for the primary on March 3.

This is the second day in a row a Presidential candidate visited North Carolina looking to rally support, with Sanders arriving in the Triangle hours after Candidate Michael Bloomberg made three stops across our state, including one in Raleigh.

Sanders is holding his rally at the Durham convention center at 11:30 a.m. Afterwards, he plans to speak to voters in Charlotte.

Sanders was just in the Triangle last year at UNC Chapel.

Since his win in New Hampshire, Sanders' campaign has ramped up staffing and has spent over 5 million dollars on ads here and in other Super Tuesday states.

North Carolina as a battleground state

With early voting underway ahead of the March 3 primary, North Carolina has been getting a lot of attention.

North Carolina is known as a battle ground state.

A third presidential candidate, Pete Buttigieg, will bring his message directly to North Carolina later this month.
