Bailey man arrested on charge of sex with teen

Posted August 11, 2014

Daniel Alan Liverman

— A 33-year-old Bailey man was being held in the Wake County Jail Monday afternoon on charges he had a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl.

Zebulon police allege that Daniel Alan Liverman, of 13863 Old Smithfield Road, befriended the girl at a local supermarket and then developed a sexual relationship with her over time.

Liverman faces four counts apiece of statutory rape and statutory sex offense. If he makes bond, the terms of his arrest dictate that he stay away from his alleged victim and not have any contact with anyone under the age of 18 without supervision.

You are wrong. It's not because of the media. It is because the police, having enough evidence to bring charges, arrested this man. They don't normally arrest the wrong person in cases like this. Notice I said "normally".

At least the way I am taking it is that JWSawyer believes that some of the commenters appear to be "condoning" this act?

678Devish: you may want to look up the definition of "condone"....

Why does our society condone this behavior?

Because the girls is under age 18 and many times is not mature enough. Gee, 14 and you think its OK for her to be with a man that can be her father's age? How sick is that?

It just amazes me how some people can even suggest that a 14 year old can be cognizant enough to deal with a grown man and to understand the level of manipulation and grooming process of a pedophile. Just amazing!

How about waiting until someone is convicted before publishing their name and face on the news. Not saying he didn't do it, but 14 yr old girls have been known to lie. If that were to turn out to be the case, it's too late for the accused...they're already guilty in the eye of the public because of the media.

Why do adults continue to believe that it is cool to have sexual relations with children? At the age of 33, there is no way that this guy felt that his relationship was just normal. Not with a 14 year old girl/child.
