Autopsy: Sharpsburg boy beaten with hammer

Posted July 20, 2012

— A Nash County boy, whom police say was killed by his older brother, was assaulted with a hammer to his head, according to an autopsy report released Friday.

Olufemi Christian Fashola, 13, died April 25 during a fight at the boys' home in Sharpsburg. Their parents were not home at the time.

Medical examiners at the Brody School of Medicine's Division of Forensic Pathology at East Carolina University found the teen suffered massive blunt force trauma to the head.

The older brother, Olabode Raphael Fashola, 16, called 911, telling the dispatcher that he killed Olufemi. He is charged with first-degree murder.

So very sad. A family has lost TWO sons!

If my memory serves me correctly, the suspect had been suspended from school and the victim said he was going to tell the mother as soon as she got homme. At least that is what the local media reported days after the crime.

Holy mackerel!!! Was there no sign of this type of aggression in that family between the two boys before that time???

Still...it would be hard to imagine a sibling doing that to another sibling, even in a slightly dysfunctional family.

Praying for the parents, I can't imagine!!!

How very sad - and yet, no death penalty for these killers - only the death penalty for their victims.
