SPRING LAKE — The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with several other law enforcement agencies, will conduct a DWI checkpoint on Saturday.

Law enforcement agencies will set up their checkpoint station at Highway 87 North in Spring Lake near the Cumberland and Harnett county line.

Officers will begin checking for drivers who might be intoxicated or have committed any other traffic violations. Drivers should be prepared to present drivers license, vehicle registration card and proof of insurance between the hours of 11 p.m. until 3 a.m.

The N.C. Highway Patrol will have the “Batmobile” on hand to assist with processing intoxicated drivers.

Anyone who will be in the vicinity of the checkpoint station will be expected to stop and, when approached by officers, be prepared to present the appropriate documentation.
