Authorities searching for escaped Greene County inmate

Authorities said Waylon Flynn, 37, was serving a sentence for obtaining property by false pretenses. He was admitted to prison in July and was scheduled to be released in December.

MAURY, N.C. — The North Carolina Department of Public Safety is searching for an inmate who escaped from the Greene Correctional Center Saturday night.

Authorities said Waylon Flynn, 37, was serving a sentence for obtaining property by false pretenses. He was admitted to prison in July and was scheduled to be released in December.

Anybody who sees Flynn or has information about his location should call the Green Correctional Center at 252-747-3676 or dial 911.
