Assault rifles, marijuana plants found in Nashville home
A 54-year-old Nashville man faces drug charges after 10 six-feet-tall marijuana plants were found growing inside a pool at his residence, the Nash County Sheriff's Office said.
Posted — UpdatedMichael Burton Randolph, of the 5800 block of Red Road, is charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell, deliver marijuana; felony possession of marijuana; maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of keeping a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Randolph received a $7,000 bond.
The marijuana plants held a street value of $28,800, said the sheriff’s office, adding that a tip led deputies to the home.
Deputies also found 25 long guns and handguns, six assault rifles with 25-30 round magazine capacity, long range scopes, a .44 magnum handgun with a scope and approximately 5,000 round of ammunition.
“There is no problem with citizens owning weapons, however, when narcotics are involved it becomes a recipe for disaster,” said Lt. Todd Wells with the sheriff’s office.
