Second man charged in Bragg soldier's death

Police on Thursday arrested a Fayetteville man in connection with the shooting death last month of a Fort Bragg soldier.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police on Thursday arrested a Fayetteville man in connection with the shooting death last month of a Fort Bragg soldier.

Javore Lavon Blackwell, 25, was charged with first-degree murder, discharging a weapon into occupied property and felonious conspiracy. He was being held without bond in the Cumberland County jail.

Investigators said Duane Derek Davis, 24, was in the living room of his home at 2815 Coronada Parkway on April 10 when someone outside fired several shots into the residence. Davis later died at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Robert Dushaun Williams, 24, of 6123 Kimbrook Drive, was arrested Monday and charged with murder in the case. He remains in the Cumberland County jail without bond.
