Arrest in Rocky Mount closes San Diego cold case
Tieray Jones, 37, was arrested in Rocky Mount Monday and charged with murder in the death of his then-2-year-old stepson in San Diego in 2002, San Diego County District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis said.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Tieray Jones, 37, was arrested in Rocky Mount Monday and charged with murder in the death of his then-2-year-old stepson in San Diego in 2002, San Diego County District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis said.
A task force of U.S. Marshals took Jones into custody.
Fox 5 in San Diego reported the arrest, but authorities did not share detail about how they tracked Jones to North Carolina.
Jones will be arraigned Tuesday in North Carolina, and Dumanis said she would ask to have him extradited to San Diego.
