Ambulance hits building In Carthage

A Moore County ambulance crashed into a building in Carthage during heavy rain Wednesday, authorities said.

A Moore County ambulance crashed into a building in Carthage during heavy rain Wednesday, authorities said.

The crash accident happened on McReynolds Street, at the corner of Old Glendon Road, about 11:30 a.m.

None of the EMS workers who were in the ambulance was injured. A second ambulance was sent to cover the call missed by the unit that wrecked, officials said.

The building received extensive damage when the vehicle ran in one side of the structure and out through another wall.

Carthage Fire and Rescue, Moore County EMS, Moore County Public Safety and the Carthage Police Department responded to the wreck.

The cause remained under investigation.
