ABERDEEN, N.C. — A boil-water advisory issued for the town of Aberdeen was lifted Thursday afternoon.

Town officials issued the advisory Wednesday morning after a contractor accidentally drilled through the town’s water main.

An estimated 500 to 1,000 residents and businesses were without water after Broad Plex, a fiber optic cable contractor for Moore County schools, hit the main about 10 a.m.
