The Moore County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man in connection with the reported sexual assault of a 40-year-old disabled woman at her home in the Vass area Wednesday.

<b>VASS, N.C.</b> — The Moore County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man in connection with a reported sexual assault of a 40-year-old disabled woman at her home in the Vass area Wednesday.

Elton Clarke Turner, 74, of 1492 McGill Road, faces two charges of felony second-degree rape and two charges of misdemeanor assault on a handicapped person.

Turner was being held in the Moore County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond Friday. His first court appearance was set for May 18.

"There's no threat. There's no firearm," Deputy Chief Rico Boyce said at the press conference. "A student made the principal aware that there's someone on campus with a firearm."
