73-year-old Greenville woman killed by truck in Food Lion parking lot

A 73-year-old Greenville woman was leaving a Food Lion on East 10th Street when she was hit and killed by a pick-up truck on Wednesday

GREENVILLE, N.C. — A 73-year-old woman was leaving a Food Lion on East 10th Street in Greenville on Tuesday when she was hit and killed by a pick-up truck.

She was walking to her car when she was hit by the truck, driven by 21-year-old Spencer Scott, according to police.

Authorities said Scott was making a left turn from one of the lanes of the parking lot.

Jane Boardman, from Greenville died from her injuries at a local hospital on Wednesday, officials told WITN.

Many people who knew Boardman described her as a wonderful coworker and "beautiful soul."
