70-year-old Coats man charged with drug trafficking

A 70-year-old Coats man has been charged with trafficking opium after Harnett County deputies found drugs during a search of his home, authorities said Friday.

COATS, N.C. — A 70-year-old Coats man has been charged with trafficking opium after Harnett County deputies found drugs during a search of his home, authorities said Friday.

Johnnie Lee Judd, of 1551 Clayhole Road, also was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held in the Harnett County jail under a $150,000 bond.

Narcotics officers searched Judd's home on Feb. 11 and found 55 doses of prescription medicines containing codeine and one gram of cocaine, said Maj. Jeff Huber of the Harnett County Sheriff's Office.
