6-week-old Chapel Hill boy drowns in SC pond

Authorities said that 6-week-old King Khalil Jair Alexander was found in a pond near Tanger Outlets on Highway 501 near Myrtle Beach.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The Horry County Police Department is investigating after a Chapel Hill infant was found in a South Carolina pond Saturday night.

Authorities said that 6-week-old King Khalil Jair Alexander was found in a pond near Tanger Outlets on Highway 501 near Myrtle Beach.

He died as a result of drowning, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office.

No further information was released.
