BALTIMORE, MD — After a year in the making, over 6,000 pounds of food was given to those in need in Baltimore.

On Tuesday, the Maryland Food Bank hosted its final 'Flavor For Life Pantry on the Go' event of the year. All year the food bank has been working with the global spice giant and the statewide anti-hunger organization to promote healthy eating, while expanding food assistance in local food-insecure communities.

Starting at 10:00 a.m., volunteers from one of the Maryland Food Bank's partner agencies gave out approximately 6,000 pounds of food throughout the day.

This food distribution program is one of 10 special events that have helped provide nearly 65,000 meals over the past six months.
