59-year-old woman seriously injured in Durham hit-and-run crash

Durham police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck during a hit-and-run crash Wednesday night.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck during a hit-and-run crash Wednesday night.

Authorities said officers responded to the 1100 block of N. Hyde Park Avenue near Lowry Avenue at about 9 p.m. and found a 59-year-old woman lying in the street.

The woman, who was not identified, was taken to Duke University Hospital for treatment of potential life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police could not offer a description of the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.
