34-year-old charged with attempted murder in shooting on Sanford porch

Zacharus Jovon Foxx, 34, of 626 Brooks Magnum Road in Cameron is charged with attempted murder, first-degree kidnapping and robbery with a dangerous weapon in connection with the Saturday shooting of Ronald Monta McLaughlin.

SANFORD, N.C. — The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has issued an arrest warrant for the person accused of shooting a Sanford man on his front porch over the weekend.

Zacharus Jovon Foxx, 34, of 5312 Swann Station Road in Sanford is charged with attempted murder, first-degree kidnapping and robbery with a dangerous weapon in connection with the Saturday shooting of Ronald Monta McLaughlin.

Authorities said McLaughlin was found with a gunshot wound on the front porch of his home at 3029 Cornsilk Drive at about 5:30 a.m. Saturday.

Foxx was not in custody as of Tuesday afternoon. Anybody with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at 919-718-4577.
