3 Arrested, $2 Million in Marijuana Seized

Police seized about $2 million in marijuana and arrested three people Saturday in what is being described as one of the largest marijuana busts in the Durham Police Department’s history.

DURHAM, N.C. — Police seized about $2 million in marijuana and arrested three people Saturday in what is being described as one of the largest marijuana busts in the Durham Police Department’s history.

Investigators stopped a truck in the 500 block of Hoover Road and found 1,904 pounds of marijuana in the truck’s trailer.

Hector Fabian Arguello Meza, 22, of Troendly Street in Burlington; Ulises Soto Partida, 23, of an unknown address in Burlington; and Aracely Lopez Gomez, 20, of Troendly Street in Burlington, are charged with trafficking in marijuana by possession and by transportation.

They were placed in the Durham County Jail under $250,000 bonds.

The arrests were the result of an ongoing investigation, police said.
