2nd man charged in Durham killing

Durham police have charged Don Tray Cole, 33, of Elm Street, with the shooting death of Johnnie Junior Moore on Tuesday night.

DURHAM, N.C. — Police were searching Thursday for a second man charged in a shooting Tuesday night.

Mark Anthony Stevons, 18, of 1715 Avondale Drive, faces murder charges in the death of Johnnie Junior Moore, of Durham.

Investigators said Moore was standing near a dark-colored sports utility vehicle on Liberty Street when the vehicle's occupants shot him.

Police arrested Don Tray Cole, 33, of Elm Street on Wednesday in the case. Cole's year-long parole for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury had been set to expire Thursday.

Stevons is known to frequent areas around Liberty Street, Hyde Park Avenue and Juniper Street.
