25-year-old man shot, killed during confrontation at Goldsboro home

A man died after being shot in Goldboro early Saturday morning, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A man died after being shot early Saturday morning during an altercation at a Goldsboro home, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.

Around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, deputies responded to a shooting on N.C. Highway 117 South. Deputies and EMS arrived to the scene and found Joshua Omar Forbes, 25, of Day Circle, Goldsboro.

Detectives said Forbes was shot during a confrotation at a residence on Bryan Boulevard. Forbes ran back to the vehicle he arrived in and was taken to the hospital. On the way to the hospital, the driver stopped at a business for help, but Forbes died.
