RALEIGH, N.C. — Police have charged a 23-year-old Raleigh man in the shooting death of a former Shaw University basketball player at a Raleigh apartment complex on Sunday.
Barry Carnell McCrae Jr., was charged with murder in connection to the death of 23-year-old Quentin Quante Judd.

Judd was shot early Sunday morning at Vie Apartments, at 5903 Wolf Glen Court. Officers responding to a call about a loud party found Judd slumped in a breezeway, suffering from a bullet wound. He was taken to WakeMed, where he died.

Both Judd and McCrae lived at the complex, police said.

McCrae, who is being held without bond, will have probable cause hearing in September.
