DURHAM, N.C. — Two people were arrested Saturday night in connection with a robbery on a Durham bus.

Authorities said that the teenage victim got on the bus at about 11 p.m. Saturday and was approached by two men.

When the teen sat down on the bus, a man sat next to him and began going through his pockets. A second man allegedly implied he had a gun and threatened the teen until he surrendered his phone, police said.

Malcolm Lee Davis, 23, and Ladarrious Lamonte Alston, 23, both of Durham, were located on Guess Road and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony conspiracy.

Davis was also charged with assault after police said he punched a second teenager in the head as he and Alston were getting off the bus.

Alston and Davis were being held at the Durham County Jail under $300,000 and $325,000 bonds respectively.

Police have since located the phone stolen from the victim.
