Weekend Best Bets: Artsplosure, Got to Be NC

RALEIGH, N.C. — The hottest ticket of the weekend is a trip underground at Cameron Village.

Cameron Village: The Underground Comes Alive - It's your last time to check out the iconic Cameron Village Subway. On Saturday night, they are opening the doors for a sold-out crowd to enter. There will be a runway show, video games and live music. If you didn't score a ticket, that's OK! you can watch the fashion show live at 9 p.m. It will be broadcast on the canvas outside of Fresh Market.

Got to Be NC - The precursor to the N.C. State Fair starts Friday at the State Fairgrounds. There will be carnival rides, food, exhibits and more! Admission is free. Everything starts at noon Friday.

Artsplosure - A 3-day celebration of the arts in downtown Raleigh kicks off Friday and runs through Sunday. The art market, live music and a children's zone all highlight this annual free event.

Star Wars Night at Durham Bulls - The Durham Bulls will be celebrating "Star Wars" night on Saturday when they take on the Scranton. There will be costumed characters, special jerseys and more!

Bimbe Cultural Arts Festival - One of the oldest cultural festivals and celebrations of music, art and dance in North Carolina, the Bimbe Culture Arts Festival is Saturday at Rock Quarry Park in Durham. This year's even features old school hip hop artists MC Lyte and DJ Kool. In addition, there will be a marketplace with vendors, a children's zone and more.

25th Annual Four Oaks Acorn Festival - The festival kicks off Friday night with a bluegrass concert in Barbour's Grove Park. Saturday will include a children's parade at 10 a.m. followed by the Acorn Festival. There will be carnival rides and pony rides, food and vendors.

Read Local Book Fair - Fifty authors, writers and publishers will be in Durham this Sunday doing readings and celebrating local literature. Readings are from noon to 6 p.m. in Durham Central Park.

Hook and Vine Seafood and Wine Festival - The Wine Feed is partnering with Locals Seafood on Sunday to bring you five exquisite wines paired with five local NC seafood dish samples from fantastic Raleigh restaurants.

East Meets West - Head to Morrisville Saturday for a celebration of food, music and performances from around the world. East Meets West is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Town Hall Drive in Morrisville. The West Stage will feature reggae and rock music. The East stage showcases local cultural performances. There will also be children's activities including face painting, bounce houses and other activities. Admission is free.

Food Truck Rodeos - There are food truck rodeos in Chapel Hill and Wake Forest this weekend. The 4th Annual Food Truck Rodeo to benefit TABLE will happen Saturday from 3-6 p.m. at Orange United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill. On Sunday, head to Wake Forest for a rodeo from noon to 4 p.m. at the Over the Falls Shopping Center at 419 S. Brooks St.

Biltmore Winery 30th anniversary celebration – There will be several events happening this Saturday at the Biltmore Estate to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the winery. There will be day tastings, and a celebration on the Village Green starting at 4 p.m.

NC Symphony Pop Loves Vegas - Guest conductor Jack Everly and the North Carolina Symphony take a spin on the musical roulette wheel with hip classics such as "Luck Be A Lady," "Hey Big Spender," "Viva Las Vegas," "My Way" and "Fly Me To The Moon," just to name a few. Shows are Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m. at Meymandi Concert Hall.

"Pippin" - The blockbuster musical finishes its run this weekend at DPAC.

Brad Paisley - The country star plays Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh Saturday night.

Midtown Bluegrass Series - North Hills continues its bluegrass series Sunday with the Vickie Vaughn Band. The free show starts at 5 p.m. at Midtown Park.

NeedtoBreathe - The band plays Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh Friday night.

Deep South's 20th Anniversary - Deep South Entertainment will celebrate 20 years in the Raleigh area Saturday with a festival featuring artists including Paramlee, Marcy Playground and Kasey Tyndall. Proceeds will benefit Band Together and LGBT Center of Raleigh. The celebration will happen at Deep South the Bar at the corner of Cabarrus and Dawson in downtown Raleigh. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Bands start at noon.

7th Annual Bee Ball - The Beehive Collective is hosting its annual Bee Ball Saturday night at Southland Ballroom. Sidecar Social Club will provide music Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 the day of. Doors open at 8 p.m.

Carolina Ballet presents "Cinderella" - The classic production will be presented this weekend at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium.
