Sunshine to push highs into the 90s after foggy morning
Sunshine was beginning to burn off fog across central and eastern North Carolina late Wednesday morning, marking a brighter day that will include highs in the low 90s.

A dense fog advisory for a bulk of the region will end at 9 a.m., and temperatures will warm quickly by lunchtime, WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said.
Daytime highs will top out in the low 90s, marking the first time the area has seen widespread 90-degree temperatures in a week.
Widely scattered showers and storms are possible Wednesday afternoon, but much of the area will stay dry.
Chances for precipitation go up on Thursday as a front approaches the area. Thunderstorms that form on Thursday could become strong to severe and include damaging winds, heavy downpours and hail.
Sunshine returns Friday as high temperatures dip back into the upper 80s.
