GARNER, N.C. — Garner police were investigating vandalism to at least 12 vehicles in what appeared to be related incidents around town Tuesday night.

An unknown person(s) drove through various neighborhoods and broke out car windows around 9:30 p.m, police said.

Investigators said they believe the damage could have been caused by a BB gun or other small projectile.

"A resident on Chapwith (Road) was outside her home when she heard glass breaking up the street," said Sgt. Todd Marr. "She saw a dark colored car speeding away from the scene and then (she) notified police."

Officers searched the area but did not find anyone. During their search, they found 11 more vehicles that had been vandalized in the same general area.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Garner police at 919-772-8810 or Crime Stoppers at 919-226-2746.
