1 dead, 1 injured in Lillington shooting

No arrests have been made in a pair of shootings in Lillington on Thursday night that left one person dead and sent another to the hospital.

LILLINGTON, N.C. — No arrests have been made in a pair of shootings in Lillington on Thursday night that left one person dead and sent another to the hospital.

Harnett County officials said the two calls for gunshots were received within five minutes of each other, beginning around 7:41 p.m. The first call was at 100 Lorane Lane, and the second call was for 7288 N.C. Highway 27 West, where officials said the shooting occurred. The two locations are less than a mile apart.

Officials identified the victims as Larry Jr. Moore, 29, and Donald Ray McLean, 32, of 7288 N.C. 27 West. Moore was transported to Cape Fear Valley Hospital, and McLean died at the scene.

Authorities are still investigating the murder.
