'Frozen' kicks off Cary amphitheater's Movies by Moonlight

The series, which begins May 16, features popular movies and a couple of classics from May to August. Kids 12 and under are free.

"Frozen," which is becoming one of the top movies of all time, will launch Koka Booth Amphitheatre's popular "Movies by Moonlight" series.

The series, which begins May 16, features popular movies and a couple of classics from May to August. Tickets are $3 and free for kids 12 and under. You can bring a blanket or chair for your own piece of the lawn. A portion of the series' proceeds benefits the WakeMed Children's Hospital.

Here's the schedule as it is right now. Movies usually start at dusk, around 8:30 p.m. 

May 16: Frozen (PG)
May 23: Gravity (PG)
June 5: Caddyshack (R)
June 12: The Princess Bride (PG-13) (My all-time favorite movie).
July 11: The Lego Movie (PG)
July 18: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (PG-13)
July 25: Now You See Me (PG-13)
Aug. 8: Despicable Me 2 (PG)
Aug. 9: Captain Phillips (PG-13)
Aug. 23: Grease Sing-A-Long. Note: This fully interactive screening of the classic film includes subtitles. Dressing up is strongly encouraged. Special pricing for this show. General admission is $15. Kids ages 5 to 12 are $7. A limited number of four packs are $40.
