Well adam we've actually just learned that that gun was discharged inside the school. It did hit a window but no injuries. That person is in custody and right now drop off is continuous with these parents. They have decided to end the school day early dismiss everyone for the day and I'm gonna flip behind the camera and show you just what this pickup is looking like. Right now. They are doing it here in the parking lot across the street from the school and they're doing it based on like last name. So if you come over here you can see that sign right there. So whatever your last name is, that's how they're forming those lines. And it has been an emotional reunion in this parking lot. Lots of hugs even some tears as this was just a very scary morning for everybody involved. If you just think about everything that's happened this year with with schools with what happened in you validates what one dad here mentioned so a very happy ending that these kids are gonna be able to get back with their their parents in this parking lot right here or their loved ones that are picking them up. But again we're still learning more and more about how this situation unfolded. So we'll keep you updated on what we learn live and Verena Michael Grace Wrl News awesome house. So I called my wife immediately after I called my wife, she lives like 10 minutes away and then I let my boss know then I started coming over here as quickly as I possibly could but safely and so he told me about the whole time while I was driving that the police were, they just got there and that he can hear them and he was sitting next to the kid actually behind the kid when the whole situation went down. Um other than that we're glad that proper authorities responded and no one got hurt. Most importantly everyone was safe and you know, we kind of met on the corner and you and I were just talking a little bit but I know who you was at first, you know that Well I'm just so curious because I have to know what that moment just like when you got to feel sorry it was, it was terrifying because you wouldn't think, something like that could happen and you heard about in the news and next thing you know, you're in the middle of the situation and you're like so many things like going to your mind and can you get there any quicker? You know, can I get there any quicker to be at my son's side? You know if things really have gone south, but I'm glad and you know, I think my creator that nothing went wrong and everyone was safe and I just hope that this is a wake up call to the rest of America like this can happen anywhere no matter where you're from what neighborhood you're in and I'm just glad today was a good day for everybody. I'll let you go and enjoy the family time. I appreciate it. Thank you parents. Something going on. I know it's been kind of like a little bit slow this week besides this. I'm meteorologist, Elizabeth Gardner. We're looking at a level one risk for severe storms for the rest of the day today. Closer to lunchtime, we may see a wave that comes through that could bring us a few showers or thunderstorms. Our severe weather threat at this point would be fairly low potential for some wind damage, possibly. Um, and of course, that's down from a level two and of course, our weather alert day for today has been canceled. There is still some ongoing severe weather across parts of the deep south of Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama. You can see there in red. Those are tornado watches and, uh, some severe thunderstorm warnings there in yellow that continue to crop up, but all of that looks to stay to our south and west. It doesn't look like we'll see much of a risk for severe storms for the rest of the day, but it is likely to be breezy. We'll see winds out of the southwest gusting 25 to 30 MPH. And as we roll through future cast, you can see closer to lunchtime, a quick shower, maybe an isolated thunderstorm that should be out of here. By early afternoon, maybe a few breaks in the clouds, but we may not see a whole lot of sunshine still for the most part, if you're headed to the games game tonight, hopefully that's going to be a good one. only a tiny chance of a shower at that point game time, temperatures will be around 80 degrees and it does look like tailgating would be fine for the most part future cast. As we get through the day tomorrow, we'll see an increasing chance for showers and thunderstorms, especially mid to late afternoon. That's when the cold front comes through. That cold front's been producing a lot of severe weather. It looks like our chances for storms may be a little better tomorrow than today. And there is a lot, one risk in our southern counties for tomorrow. Mid eighties this afternoon. Definitely a toasty and sticky day. We're sitting steamy right now, but over the weekend, we're going to see that dropping off to much lower. So we get rid of the humidity. We'll see much more pleasant temperatures highs in the seventies, Saturday and Sunday. It looks like an absolutely gorgeous Mother's Day weekend. And again, our chance for rain tapering off through the rest of the day today, but a chance of scattered storms in the afternoon and evening for tomorrow.
