Zebulon man pinned under truck after crash near Benson

Troopers say the driver, whose name was not released, was speeding, lost control and drove off N.C. Highway 210 West near Benson around 1 a.m.

The passenger, Lee Mitchell, was pinned under the truck, according to Trooper PK Watkins. A helicopter took him to WakeMed where he was listed in fair condition.

The driver was also taken to the hospital and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, troopers said. It’s unclear if any charges will be filed.
