A Zebulon man has been accused of statutory rape involving a 13-year-old girl, according to arrest warrants.

<b>ZEBULON, N.C.</b> — A Zebulon man has been accused of statutory rape involving a 13-year-old girl, according to arrest warrants.

Matthew Guy Thompson, 19, of 12872 N.C. Highway 96, faces two counts of statutory rape with a defendant older than the victim by four to six years.

Investigators with the Wake County Sheriff's Office allege that the sexual contact took place last September and October, the warrant states. Thompson would have been 18 then.

Thompson was placed in the Wake County jail under a $25,000 unsecured bond. His first court date was set for Monday.
