There’s a new twist on licorice, and we think you’ll love it: Dr Pepper flavor is here!
The seller, Licorice International, offers a lot of flavor choices when it comes to its licorice. But Dr Pepper is such a
beloved beverage, who could pass up trying this unique
candy treat?
The other flavors in the
assortment include Orange Crush, Grape Crush and A&W Root Beer. They’re all made with the real beverages, but the Dr Pepper flavor intrigues us the most.
Packs of the Dr Pepper licorice twists are also for sale by several online retailers, including
Walmart. You could take some
home today!
Legend has it Alderton
named the drink after the father of a girl he was in love with.
Dr Pepper was
introduced to the larger public at the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis, which also introduced hamburger and hot dog buns, along with
ice cream cones. The Dr Pepper Company is the oldest major manufacturer of soft drink concentrates and syrups in the U.S., but now has a parent company called the Dr Pepper Snapple Group.
As for the 23 flavors? Well,
one fan site speculates that they are cola, cherry, licorice, amaretto almond, vanilla, blackberry, apricot, blackberry, caramel, pepper, anise, sarsaparilla, ginger, molasses, lemon, plum, orange, nutmeg, cardamom, allspice, coriander juniper, birch and prickly ash.
Others think cinnamon, spikenard, caramel, raspberry and grape may be involved.
But no one knows for sure! Dr Pepper says the ingredients are proprietary information and doesn’t have a flavor list available.
In the meantime, everyone should give Dr Pepper licorice twists a try!
