Most of us North Carolinians wouldn't recognize the name Yard House, but that's about to change. The restaurant chain featuring American fusion cuisine and an extensive list of beers on tap is opening its first North Carolina location this Sunday in North Hills.
The doors open at 11 a.m. for lunch, where you can try executive chef Carlito Jocson's signature dishes: (mac+cheese)2, Kung Pao Calamari and Salted Caramel Butterscotch Pudding. The restaurant also offers healthy options with fewer than 600 calories, including Pear & Gorgonzola Flatbreads, Smoked Gouda & Chicken and Mediterranean Seared Scallops.

The Yard House's key feature that is sure to entice people inside is its unique beer system. A glass-enclosed keg room houses beer from local breweries and premium imports, and the beer is transported through tubes to 140 taps at the bar. The "Chalkboard Beer Series" showcases a selection of unique bottle offerings and five rotating drafts of small, limited releases, usually from craft brewers.

We're certainly planning an Out & About lunch at the Yard House next week; stay tuned to see what we think!
