Wreck knocks out power in Apex
A wreck around midnight Wednesday knocked out power to hundreds of homes in Apex, police said.
Posted — UpdatedAPEX, N.C. — A wreck around midnight Wednesday knocked out power to hundreds of homes in Apex, police said.
Cary police said that a driver lost control of a pickup truck along Holt Road, near Daleshire Drive, then ran off the left side of the road and struck a power pole.
The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Duke Medical Center by ambulance.
The wreck knocked out power to between 500 and 1,000 homes in Apex for several hours. Charter Cable service was also disrupted.
Investigators believe that alcohol was a factor in the wreck, police said. Charges are pending.
