Wreck injures four in Granville; driver charged with DWI

A single-vehicle wreck injured four people along U.S. Highway 15 in Granville County Thursday night, state troopers said.

Around 9:30 p.m., Ricky Jerome Lyons, of Stem, ran off the road and over-corrected, sending his vehicle off the road again, troopers said. The vehicle hit a tree, flipped over several times and landed in a ditch.

Three passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Duke University Medical Center. Lyons was treated and released from Granville Medical Center.

Troopers charged Lyons with driving while impaired, driving with a revoked license, careless and reckless driving, and driving left of center.
