Wreck closes N.C. 690 near Vass

Moore County authorities closed a portion of N.C. Highway 690 Tuesday afternoon to respond to a wreck near Woodlake Country Club, a spokesman with Circle V Fire Department in Vass said.

Moore County authorities closed a portion of N.C. Highway 690 Tuesday afternoon to respond to a wreck near Woodlake Country Club, a spokesman with Circle V Fire Department in Vass said.

Frank Staples told WRAL News that tractor-trailer and a car were involved in the crash just after 2 p.m. Staples said witnesses reported that the driver of the car drifted across the center line.

Both the driver and the passenger from the car were taken to area hospitals, Staples said. The driver of the truck told emergency personnel that he did not need to go to a hospital.

Staples did not have the names of any of those involved.
